The Cisco ASR-9006-DC-V2 is a robust DC-powered chassis for the ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers, featuring Power Entry Module (PEM) Version 2. This 4-line-card slot chassis delivers carrier-class performance for edge, aggregation, and transport applications, optimized for operational efficiency and service agility under Cisco IOS XR Software.

Cisco IOS XR Flexible Consumption Model Overview

Cisco IOS XR Routing products, including the ASR 9000 Series, are powered by the industry-leading 64-bit IOS XR Software with features like Pre-boot eXecution Environment (iPXE) boot, auto provisioning, third-party application hosting, machine-to-machine interface, telemetry, and flexible software delivery. The Flexible Consumption Model (FCM) enables pay-as-you-grow scalability, reducing upfront capital, enabling license pooling, simplifying operations with Essentials and Advantage suites, and protecting investments via software portability.

Requires Cisco Smart Licensing for registration, usage reporting, real-time visibility, centralized management, telemetry, and organization by department/product/geography.

Software Suites

Essentials suite for basic transport (per-400G/100G/10G capacity). Advantage extends Essentials with advanced features. A-la-carte for platform-specific like BNG (ASR 9000) or DWDM (NCS 5500). Available on ASR 9000 3rd/4th/5th Gen line cards starting IOS XR 7.4.1.

Supported Platforms

The IOS XR FCM supports Cisco 8000 Series, ASR 9000 Series (3rd/4th/5th Gen line cards), NCS 5500/540/560 Series. For ASR 9000, includes chassis like ASR-9006-SYS (4 Line Card Slot Chassis) and extensive line cards/port adapters. All require Smart Licensing. 1-year limited hardware warranty with 10-day RMA turnaround.
