Description
The Cisco ASR1009-X-NTT is a robust router chassis from the Cisco ASR 1000 Series, optimized for enterprise WAN edge deployments. This NTT-specific variant offers exceptional scalability and performance, supporting fixed-port Ethernet line cards capable of 40-Gbps full-duplex traffic forwarding. With 10 units currently in stock, it is available for immediate dispatch at a special offer price of $1703, representing a 92% savings. A comprehensive PDF datasheet is available for detailed technical specifications.
Product Overview
The Cisco ASR 1000 Series Fixed Ethernet Line Cards, such as ASR1000-2T+20X1GE (twenty 1 Gigabit Ethernet ports and two 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports) and ASR1000-6TGE (six 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports), are designed for the ASR 1000 Series Aggregation Services Routers, including the ASR1009-X chassis. These line cards utilize Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) and 10-Gbps SFP (XFP) modules for flexible configuration across copper or fiber media, single- or multimode fiber. Each line card features one power LED, one line-card status LED, and port or link-status LEDs for 22 ports.
The Cisco ASR 1000 Series Modular Interface Processor (ASR1000-MIP100) provides full-duplex 100-Gbps capacity, hosting up to two Ethernet Port Adapters (EPAs). EPAs introduce 40 Gigabit Ethernet and 100 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, including 1-port 100GE QSFP, 1-port 100GE, 10-port 10GE, 18-port 1GE, 1-port 40GE (with optional license for second port), 2-port 40GE (Native QSFP or breakout cable). These offer feature parity with traditional SPA interface processors but in a fixed or modular form factor optimized for higher Ethernet density and lower cost per port.
The ASR1009-X-NTT chassis is fully compatible with these components, enabling greater Ethernet density in enterprise networks. Unlike SPAs, fixed Ethernet line cards and modular processors occupy dedicated slots without SPA compatibility.
Key Features and Capabilities
- Rich Ethernet Layer 2, Layer 3, IP, IPv6, and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) packet-processing capabilities, consistent with Cisco ASR 1000 Series platforms.
- Advanced Quality-of-Service (QoS) functions: Ingress and egress QoS, egress queuing, high- and low-priority lanes to Embedded Services Processors for low-latency forwarding.
- Hardware-ready MACsec support on select EPAs: 18-port 1GE, 10-port 10GE, 2-port 40GE, 1-port 40GE.
- LED indicators: Power, line-card status, and per-port link/status LEDs.
- Flexible media support via SFP/XFP modules for copper, single-mode, or multimode fiber.
- Full-duplex 40-Gbps (fixed cards) and 100-Gbps (modular) traffic forwarding.
Compatibility and Integration
The ASR1009-X-NTT chassis supports a wide range of ASR 1000 Series components, including Route Processors (ASR1000-RP2, ASR1000-RP3), Embedded Services Processors (ASR1000-ESP40, ESP100, ESP200, ESP100-X, ESP200-X), and various chassis like ASR1004, ASR1006, ASR1006-X. Up to 4 fixed line cards (ASR1000-2T+20X1GE/ASR1000-6TGE) on ASR1013 with ESP40. Refer to the Cisco ASR 1000 Series Fixed Ethernet Line Card Hardware Installation Guide for latest details.
