This license enhances NSO capabilities by enabling CSFB features, allowing automated configuration across hybrid environments via CLI, APIs, and user interfaces. Exceptional Multivendor Support through Network Element Drivers (NEDs)

NSO uses NEDs to support an exceptional range of multivendor devices. Unlike traditional handcrafted adaptors that lag behind device updates, Cisco NSO NEDs are automatically generated from device YANG models or updated in weeks. This drastically shortens development cycles: adding new commands to an existing NED takes a couple of weeks, while creating a new NED takes six to eight weeks, varying by configuration size and complexity.

NEDs communicate over native protocols including Network Configuration Protocol (NETCONF), Representational State Transfer (REST), Extensible Markup Language (XML), CLI, and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
