FLASR1-SBC-4K

Description

Part of the Cisco Collaboration Edge Architecture, the Cisco FLASR1-SBC-4K license enables 4000 DBE sessions for Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) version releases 2.3.x and prior. This enterprise-class Session Border Controller (SBC) solution connects large, midsize, and small business unified communications networks with public and private IP communication services.

As a licensed feature set of Cisco IOS XE Software, CUBE delivers comprehensive interworking capabilities for voice, video, and mobile communications. It facilitates PSTN interconnect using SIP trunks, migration from TDM to SIP services, certified connections to cloud collaboration services like Cisco Webex CCA, Webex Calling Local Gateway, Cisco HCS, and Direct Routing for Microsoft Phone System. Additional use cases include business-to-business interconnect, multi-tenant solutions, and codec interworking via midcall renegotiation or transcoding.

Security and Compliance

• Flexible security rules to prohibit unauthorized connections
• Behavior evaluation policies detect malicious patterns like TDoS attacks, with responses to terminate, redirect, or record
• Interworking of encrypted and non-encrypted streams
• Media stream replication for call recording using SIPREC or HTTP API

Flexibility, Reliability, and Scale

CUBE integrates with IP networking, security, and QoS on Cisco ISR, Catalyst Edge, ASR platforms, and virtualized CSR/Catalyst Edge Software. Supports stateful high availability with active/standby pairs and clustering. From IOS XE 17.7.1a, deployable in Cisco SD-WAN solutions.

CUBE Licensing Models

• Trunking: For service interconnect; each license enables one call session plus forked media
• Lineside: Enhances hosted SIP services; one license per endpoint for registration proxy and survivability
• Media Proxy: For recording/compliance; forks to up to five destinations

The FLASR1-SBC-4K specifically licenses 4000 sessions for DBE in Release 2.3.x and prior, compatible with Smart Licensing for entitlement pooling across platforms.

Router Platform Support
