Product Overview

Part of the Cisco Collaboration Edge Architecture, Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) version 14 (compatible with prior releases via this RTU license) is an enterprise-class SBC solution for connecting unified communications networks with IP services. It provides comprehensive interworking for voice, video, and mobile systems, supporting PSTN interconnect via SIP trunks, TDM-to-SIP migrations, certified cloud connections (Webex CCA, Webex Calling, HCS, Microsoft Teams Direct Routing), business-to-business interconnect, multi-tenant solutions, and codec interworking.

CUBE terminates and re-originates signaling and media, ensuring secure demarcation, flexible session control, policing, and QoS. It integrates with Cisco CME and SRST for SIP trunk connectivity.

Supports stateful HA with active/standby pairs and clustering. From IOS XE 17.7.1a, deployable in Cisco SD-WAN. Smart Licensing enables pooling/portability.
