Description

The Cisco FLSA1-MACSEC10G is the ASR 1000 per 10GE port MACsec license, enabling Media Access Control Security (MACsec) encryption on 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports within the Cisco ASR 1000 Series Aggregation Services Routers. This license provides high-level Layer 2 security for enterprise WAN edge deployments, protecting against threats with hardware-accelerated encryption on supported Ethernet Port Adapters (EPAs) and fixed line cards.

Product Overview

The Cisco ASR 1000 Series Fixed Ethernet Line Cards, such as ASR1000-2T+20X1GE (twenty 1 Gigabit Ethernet ports and two 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports) and ASR1000-6TGE (six 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports), support 40-Gbps full-duplex traffic forwarding. These fixed-port interface designs use Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) and 10-Gbps SFP+ (XFP) modules for copper or fiber media, single- or multimode fiber. Each line card includes one power LED, one line-card status LED, and port/link-status LEDs.

The Cisco ASR 1000 Series Modular Interface Processor (ASR1000-MIP100) is a full-duplex 100-Gbps modular Ethernet line card hosting up to two Ethernet Port Adapters (EPAs), introducing 40 Gigabit Ethernet and 100 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. EPAs include: 1-port 100 Gigabit Ethernet port adapter, 10-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet port adapter, 18-port 1 Gigabit Ethernet port adapter, 1-port 40 Gigabit Ethernet port adapter (2 physical QSFP ports), 2-port 40 Gigabit Ethernet port adapter, and 1-port 100 Gigabit Ethernet QSFP port adapter.

These components achieve greater Ethernet density and lower price per port but replace SPA interface processors. Fixed Ethernet line cards and modular interface processors with EPAs offer feature parity with SPA combinations.
