FLSASR1-AVC

Description

The Cisco FLSASR1-AVC is the Application Visibility and Control license for the Cisco ASR 1000 Series Aggregation Services Routers. This perpetual Right-To-Use (RTU) feature license enables advanced application recognition and control capabilities, leveraging Network-Based Application Recognition (NBAR), Cisco IOS Flexible Packet Matching (FPM), and deep packet inspection integrated into the Cisco QuantumFlow processor.

Platform Architecture

Cisco ASR 1000 Series routers feature a separated control and data plane architecture, delivering software redundancy on models like ASR1001, ASR1002 Fixed, ASR1002, ASR1002-X, and ASR1004, and hardware redundancy on ASR1006 and ASR1013. The modular Cisco IOS XE software supports In-Service Software Upgrades (ISSU), minimizing downtime. All models utilize the innovative Cisco QuantumFlow processor, boosting service performance by over 10x compared to previous midrange solutions.

Embedded services include security (encryption, firewall), QoS, NBAR, FPM, broadband aggregation, and Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE-SP). The FLSASR1-AVC license specifically unlocks application visibility and control, enhancing QoS with up to 232,000 queues, hierarchical policies, and classification by DSCP, NBAR, and FPM.

Software Integration

Cisco IOS XE supports dual IOS instances for software redundancy. Feature packs include IP Base, Advanced IP Services, Advanced Enterprise Services (with/without encryption). AVC integrates with RP1/RP2 packages, universal images for ASR1001/ASR1002-X. Seven subpackages per bundle: RPBase, RPControl, RPAccess (K9/non-K9), RPIOS, ESPBase, SIPSPA, SIPBase.

Deployment Flexibility

ASR1001 introduces Integrated Daughter Cards (IDC): ASR1001-2XOC3POS (2 OC-3 PoS), ASR1001-4XT3 (4 T3), ASR1001-4X1GE (4 GE), ASR1001-8XCHT1E1 (8 T1/E1), ASR1001-HDD. Performance upgrades via software activation: ASR1001 2.5-5 Gbps, ASR1002-X 5-10/20/36 Gbps. Supports extensive SPAs for serial, Ethernet, PoS, ATM, CEoP interfaces.

High Availability and Scalability

Hardware/software redundancy, low-disruption design, ISSU. Rack-mountable (19-inch), front-to-back airflow. Comprehensive environmental specs: 41-104°F operating, NEBS Level 3, EMC compliance (FCC, VCCI, EN55022/24, etc.), safety (UL/CSA/EN60950-1).
