Software and Architecture

Cisco IOS XE software powers the ASR 1000 series with modular OS, dual IOS instances for software redundancy on 1RU/2RU chassis, and hardware redundancy on larger chassis. The control and data planes are separated for high availability. Performance scales from 2.5 Gbps to 100 Gbps via software activation.

The FLSASR1-BB-4K license is part of the broadband feature set (FLASR1-BB-RTU required for base), alongside session scales like 16K, 32K, 48K, 64K. It integrates with CUBE(SP) licenses for voice/media gateways supporting up to 32K calls.
