Description

The Cisco S-A9K-200G-AIP-TR is a Smart License designed specifically for the ASR 9000 Series 200G Modular Line Card in its Packet Transport Optimized (TR) configuration. This license activates advanced Layer 3 VPN (L3VPN) capabilities, enabling full-scale VPN Routing and Forwarding (VRF) instances on a per-line-card basis. It supports infrastructure for scalable Carrier Ethernet and IP/Multiprotocol Label Switching (IP/MPLS) networks, ideal for delivering economical, high-availability line-rate Ethernet and edge services.

Hardware Platform Overview

The license applies to the A9K-MOD200-TR, a 200G Modular Line Card that supports two Modular Port Adapters (MPAs) per line card, except for the 2-port 100 Gigabit and 20-port 10 Gigabit MPAs, which are supported only in bay 0. Achievable port densities include 20-port 10G or 64-port 1G interfaces, 4-port 40G interfaces, or 2-port 100G interfaces. These line cards provide flexibility to mix and match interface types such as 1G SFP, 10G SFP+/XFP, 40G QSFP, 100G CFP2/CPAK, and 200G optics across a single slot.

Cisco ASR 9000 Series 400G and 200G Modular Line Cards are fully compatible with the Cisco ASR 9922 Router, ASR 9912 Router, ASR 9910 Router, ASR 9906 Router, ASR 9904 Router, ASR 9010 Router, and ASR 9006 Router. Maximum line card density varies by chassis: 20 in ASR 9922, 10 in ASR 9912, 8 in ASR 9910 and ASR 9010, 4 in ASR 9906 and ASR 9006, and 2 in ASR 9904.
