SLASR1-AIS

Description

The Cisco SLASR1-AIS is the Advanced IP Services technology package license for Cisco ASR 1000 Series Aggregation Services Routers. This perpetual Right-To-Use (RTU) license unlocks advanced routing, security, and service integration capabilities, targeted at service providers and enterprises requiring high-performance WAN edge solutions.

Key Capabilities Enabled by SLASR1-AIS

• Full support for encryption services including IPsec, 3DES, AES, and SSH.
• Zone-Based Policy Firewall (ZBFW) embedded in Cisco QuantumFlow processor, delivering 2.5 to 100 Gbps performance depending on ESP.
• Flexible Packet Matching (FPM), Network-Based Application Recognition (NBAR), and Quality of Service (QoS) with up to 232,000 queues.
• Session Border Controller (SBC) for unified border element (SP edition), supporting up to 32,000 simultaneous calls and 40 Gbps multimedia.
• Lawful intercept, broadband aggregation (up to 64k sessions), and application visibility/control.
• IPv4/IPv6 routing, multicast, up to 4M IPv4/IPv6 routes, 8,000 VRFs, 1M LDP labels.

Cisco ASR 1000 Series redefines edge routing with optimized intelligent services, outstanding performance, and high availability. Architecture and Redundancy

The architecture separates control and data planes for software redundancy (ASR 1001, 1002 Fixed, 1002, 1002-X, 1004) and hardware redundancy (ASR 1006, 1013). Modular Cisco IOS XE software enables In-Service Software Upgrades (ISSU). Cisco IOS XE supports dual IOS instances on a single Route Processor for redundancy.

Software Integration

SLASR1-AIS pairs with universal IOS XE images (e.g., SASR1001UK9 for encrypted, SASR1001U for non-encrypted). Equivalent to Advanced IP Services (AISK9) feature set without legacy protocols. Each IOS XE package includes 7 subpackages: RPBase, RPControl, RPAccess (K9/non-K9), RPIOS, ESPBase, SIPSPA, SIPBase.

Performance scales from 2.5 Gbps to 100 Gbps via software activation on ESPs. Supports embedded services like security, QoS, NBAR, FPM, broadband, CUBE without additional hardware.
