Description

The Cisco SLASR907-I is the Metro IP Services license for the Cisco ASR 907 Router within the ASR 900 Series Aggregation Services Routers. This perpetual per-chassis license activates advanced feature sets in Cisco IOS XE Software, enabling service providers to deploy scalable metro IP services with a pay-as-services-grow model. It includes all capabilities of the Metro Services license plus enhanced Layer 3 IP routing, multicast, timing protocols, and VRF support.

Modular Cisco IOS XE Software

Cisco IOS XE Software on the ASR 907 Router provides a modular structure, separating data and control planes for enhanced quality and performance. The ASR 907 is supported starting from Cisco IOS XE Software Release 3.16.1aS. Consolidated universal packages offer complete feature support, activated via licenses like SLASR907-I.

• Metro Services (SLASR907-M): Baseline features including QoS with deep buffers and Hierarchical QoS (HQoS), Layer 2 protocols (802.1d, 802.1q), Ethernet Virtual Circuit (EVC), Ethernet OAM (802.1ag, 802.3ah), Multiple Spanning Tree (MST), Resilient Ethernet Protocol (REP), Synchronous Ethernet, IPv4 and IPv6 host connectivity, MR-APS, mLACP.
• Metro IP Services (SLASR907-I): All Metro Services features plus IP routing (RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, IS-IS), Protocol-Independent Multicast (PIM) Sparse Mode (SM), Dense Mode (DM), Source-Specific Multicast (SSM), SSM mapping, Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD), Multi-VRF CE (VRF lite) with service awareness (ARP, ping, SNMP, syslog, trace-route, FTP, TFTP), IEEE 1588-2008 Ordinary Clock and Transparent Clock.

Additional Feature Licenses

• IPSEC License (FLSASR907-IPSEC): Enables security for IP packets over unprotected networks. Requires reboot; payload encryption available in specific RSP3 packages for ASR 907.
• ATM License (FLSASR907-ATM): Activates ATM on TDM interfaces, including ATMoMPLS, local switching, interworking; requires T1/E1, OC-3/STM-1, or OC-12/STM-4 card.
• IEEE 1588-2008 BC/MC License (FLSASR907-1588): Activates Boundary Clock (BC) or Master Clock (MC) functionality.

Flexible Software Activation allows right-to-use licenses without physical keys. Licenses are per-chassis except specific port licenses.
