The Cisco ASR-9906-FAN is the dedicated fan tray for the Cisco ASR 9906 Router chassis, delivering carrier-class cooling performance essential for high-density 100 Gigabit Ethernet line cards and the Route Switch Processor 880-LT (RSP880-LT). Designed for the Cisco ASR 9000 Series, it accommodates demanding wireline, Data-Center-Interconnect (DCI), and Radio Access Network (RAN) aggregation applications. The integrated switch fabric architecture features a distributed, multistage low-latency nonblocking design with service intelligence and traffic prioritization. It provides superior network-timing capabilities, including Centralized Building Integrated Timing Supply (BITS), Precision Time Protocol (PTP) or IEEE 1588-2008 via dedicated 10-Mbps or 100-Mbps Ethernet port, and Bidirectional Time of Day (ToD) with 10-MHz and 1-pps interfaces.
